Cheviot Wool top in a beautiful natural white/ecru color.  Helical crimp - 3 dimensional structures that gives the wool resilience and bounce.  The micron count is 29 and this fiber has a 4-5 inch staple length. The wool top is open without being slippery making it an excellent wool for beginning spinners.  The yarn produced from Cheviot wool is a pleasure to knit, crochet and weave with. 1 lb. equals about 20 yards.

Cheviot sheep originated in the Cheviot Hills on the border of England and Scotland. Â They were referred to as the Border Cheviot and are the foundation stock for the Brecknock and the North Country Cheviots. Â This hardy breed can withstand harsh environments and are known for being great mothers. Â Cheviot tweeds are a traditional woven fabric, famous for their crispness and durability, making it a popular suiting material for both men and women.
