Spinners asked, and Malabrigo delivered. Ultra-soft merino is now available as unspun top, in a selection of their most beloved colorways. It is truly a joy to spin, full of fluff and loft and unmatched softness! Of course, you can also knit with the roving itself for a uniquely fluffy effect, or use it for thrums or needle felting.
I am a novice spinner. I found this hand dyed roving lovely to spin. As it is hand dyed there was a little flatness to the braid. To the people stating it was felted, I find it necessary to inform everyone that fine, softer wools (merinos) take much more dye for the wool to take the color. I didn't have difficulty teasing it out for spinning.
I have purchased Nube Braids many times. Their color blends can be used in a variety of ways to spin original yarns and truly interesting effects can be created when felting by layering or placement of the different colors in the braid . This also eliminates the need to buy large quantities of wool to design with multiple colors.
The colors are certainly lovely but the yarn is on the boring side and doesn't bring out the original beautiful color. Difficult to separate to spin. Will stay away from Uruguayan merino. Had this problem with another one from there.
