Love the larger shed on this loom. I got the larger loom because I wanted to make towels on it. I just finished winding on 5 yards. I think it would easily hold 7 yards. Being larger it is heavier to move but I will still be able to fold and take places. It fits on a card table. It was tricky to dress at first because I’m not used to the raddle being on the top. I searched on internet on how to put on the warp. The body comes assembled but you have to put all the heddles, etc together. Took my husband and I a few hours to put together and the instructions that comes with it are pretty good.
This loom is truly lightweight and portable at only 10.5kg (23lbs) for the Jane 40 and 14kg (31 lbs) for the Jane 70. Jane folds down to a height of only 14cm (5 ½”) for ease of transport or storage. Jane has been designed after consultation with weavers, while using successful techniques from its predecessor, the Kombo.
There is no cord wear, since cords run over rollers and the overhead beater stays out of the way when throwing the shuttle. Jane is made of lacquered beech and has a built-in raddle.
NEW JUNE 2020: We are pleased to introduce the Jane 50 loom. This new loom has all of the features you love about the Jane 40 and 70 in a new size.
