Ashford Knitters Loom 12" with 7.5 Reed- Portable rigid heddle weaving at its best!
I've been knitting for about 16 years and spinning wool for about 5, and wanted to learn weaving so I got a 20" Knitter's Loom from Paradise Fibers. I'm so happy I did! It's easy to learn and it uses up stash SO FAST. I really love weaving now, and it feels good to have another fiber art available at my disposal. I also love how compact and portable this loom is -- it folds up very small and can be stored almost anywhere.
Paradise Fiber people are very helpful and accommodating. Thank you
My first experience with a rigid heddle loom was when I picked up a cheapie "Made in China" table loom at a thrift store. Some parts were simply pressboard! After watching a video on Youtube showing how to thread the warp on an Ashford rigid heddle loom, I got started. The badly built loom, which had been made as one of those "hobby" activities, quickly became a challenge. The video showed me what I needed in a loom, but I didn't have it! The Ashford rigid heddle loom has all quality parts--no tears over this baby! The instruction booklet is excellent as well. EVERYTHING that you need is provided...well, short of fiber to weave with - lol. The carrying case was quite a nice touch, and sure enough...the loom very easily folds to fit into the case. The loom accommodates "designer" (or 'artistic') yarns so whatever you can spin you probably can put on this loom (providing that the yarn is not too thin!). It is definitely a spinner's loom!
Ashford is the bomb! I love this little Knitter’s 20” fixed heddle loom. It meets all of Ashford’s creative, quality engineering. Every detail is well thought out. I fold it; put it into the padded carrying case and off I go! Easy as one, two, three. Thank you Ashford and Paradise Fibers for your support and continued interest in the arts.
If you don't have a lot of space to store a full sized Rigid Heddle Loom, this is a great alternative!
