Great for blending

I really liked using this roving for blending small bits into rolags for spinning. It gives a beautiful pop of color. A little goes a long way.

Love the brightness!

The sari silk threads are so colorful! I’ve already used them as a texture element in my weaving, as a thread in my embroidery project, and I’ve incorporated some into my hand spun singles. I’m finding many uses for the sari silk rovings

It’s beautiful. Can’t wait to start spinning it.

Haven’t started spinning yet, but it feels pretty smooth, so I think it will spin well and the yarn will have a bit of texture.

Beautiful

I purchased the mixed color sari silk thinking to have a variety of colors with less cost. Though the fibers are great, they add a wonderful luster and softness, and they felt in well, I think this was ultimately a mistake. It is very difficult to separate sufficient amount if you want to use a specific color. I will purchase again, when these are gone, but get separate colors.

The History of the Sari:

Recycled Sari Silk Pulled Rovings

The sari has a long history in India, with the first depiction of saris in sculptures dating back to 100 B.C. The variety of colors, woven patterns, textures, and draping styles make the sari one of the world's most intricate and widely varied traditional garments. Today in India approximately six and a half million people are employed handweaving saris.
