The Last Clue: Marled Magic MKAL

The last clue was delivered early Friday morning as I peacefully slept.  I was so excited to get the pattern update downloaded and check out Stephen’s latest videos showing me what I would be knitting next.  The last clue gave the needed information to decide if you were going to make the large version of this shawl or if you were going to make the regular size.

I decided to go all out!  I want to
make this project as large as I can.  My plan for my finished MKAL is to use it as a throw for my couch or a lap blanket, so the bigger the better.  I made both of the side additions and decided that it still needed something more.  I guess it was only a matter of time before I deviated from the pattern!  I am working on knitting my final section, but I am not going to tell you what I am doing just yet.  We will let the mystery continue for you.  The
only thing I will tell you, I am using a Freia Ombre Fingering weight yarn to do it.   I decided to use this yarn because the colors change for me, so I only have to change one strand and I still get that amazing marled effect!

I wanted to participate in this MKAL for the experience and I have had a fun time knitting along with fiber lovers from all over the world.  It has been a blast to check out the Ravelry group and see what everyone is doing for their projects.  Getting to see the colors that everyone picked come alive as they knit their project has to be my favorite part.  I am a huge fan of color,  the more the better!  My favorite neutral is nature’s neutral, green.  Other than that, neutral is not a real word in my vocabulary or a yarn that I buy.  I can’t keep myself interested in the project if it is not full of color.  What about you?  What helps you enjoy what you are knitting?

It is a rainy Wednesday here in Spokane, the perfect motivation to get home to work on my last secret panel.  I know what I will be working on tonight!  I will post one more update to show off my finished project, so stay tuned, I can’t wait to share it with you!
