Elemental Affects Civility

American Made Yarn:

For an amazing yarn made in America, look no further than Elemental Affects Civility Sport High Twist. This delicious blend of Merino Wool and Mulberry Silk is homegrown, hand-dyed and spun right here in the USA. This yarn is strong and durable due to its high twist, yet soft and squishy thanks to the mulberry silk and the merino wool. Suitable for many projects that require sport weight yarn!

For the Love of the Cowl:

For me, I was not able to truly appreciate this yarn until I started knitting with it. I love that this yarn has a little silk blended in with the merino since this provides a nice drape and slight sheen to the finished project. The skein provides a generous 400 yards, which was perfect for the cowl I was making, Ciao! by Gretha Oceaan. This pattern is such a well-written pattern, perfect for anyone who is ready to give cabling a try! Every detail was given attention in the designing of this pattern. I love that in the ribbing, on both ends of the cowl, the small cables and columns of eyelets begin. This touch makes your finished cowl look amazing. For the cowl pictured, I used size US 6 needles and was able to get 11 and 1/2 repeats of chart B. Then, I did chart C to finish off the cowl and had only a few yards of yarn left. After blocking my project using Eucalan, the cables came to life and the cowl was incredibly soft and drapey! This comfy cowl is sure to become a staple in my wardrobe, you should knit one too.
