A fun, textured fiber for a more textured yarn! Not as soft as the finer fibers but perfect for an outer garment!
I received my fiber yesterday, and it did not live up to my expectations based on the other reviews. There is a truly amazing amount of kemp in the fiber, which can not be removed by combing or carding. I will have to pick the pieces out by hand, individually, as I spin. I know from prior experience what a pain in the neck that is going to be. If left in the fiber, it will cause the yarn to be scratchy, regardless of the softness of the wool itself. I probably will not be ordering this again, unless I want it to use for needle felting. I really can't recommend it for spinning unless you're going to knit something that will not touch the skin.
Sorry to hear our Norwegian Wool did not meet your expectations. This is truly a magnificent breed and is one of our favorites! Norwegian wool has many coats that can easily be separated with combing. Feel free to contact us directly at email@example.com or by phone 509-536-7746 with your specific concerns and we would be more than happy to walk you through any troubles you may encounter including the process of separating the fibers in this spectacular roving. We have succeeded in separating the Kemp from the roving by use of hand combs. Looking forward to assisting you in this process so you can experience our Norwegian Wool in all it's glory. It's one of the oldest breeds out there and has stood the test of time!
just love Paradise Fibers. Great store and great to deal with online too.
This fiber is soft and was easy for me to spin. I love it!
This fiber is a long staple and spins into a fine yarn. One of my favorites to spin.
