Knit a matching symbolic set of lucky autumnal boot cuffs and wrist warmers. This cozy accessory set is knit using simple stripes, colorwork, and the Latvian Braid technique.

The yarn in this bundle is spun from delightfully soft merino wool and is hand-dyed by artisans in Turkey. The self-striping yarn in the color options is Uneek Fingering, and the solid color is the naturally dyed Harvest Fingering. As with all of your Urth Yarns purchases, each skein will plant a tree with Trees for the Future.

From the Designer on the symbology of this design: This cozy set was named after Laima, the Baltic goddess of fate. Laima is responsible for fate or destiny, and one of her signs is a fir branch. In these simple knits, the Latvian braids are what create the fir branch effect. The evenly spaced slanted lines represent the good and bad, night and day, the ups and downs that happen in life. There is balance, you cannot see or appreciate good if you have never known bad. A line down the center (preferably green) is Laima’s thread. This is how she pulls us through life. You can wear your boot cuffs and wrist warmers so that they are pointing in, if you feel the need to protect yourself, or if you feel you have energy and love to give to others wear them pointing out. Does this really work? Well if you think it’s silly then no, but if you believe it with your whole being, like a good luck charm, you will have help from Laima to get or give what you feel in your heart.

Like all of Urth Yarn's hand-dyed masterpieces, every skein is unique! Also, every digital screen is calibrated differently. Slight variations in tone and saturation will vary from screen to screen. The actual color of your item may vary slightly from what you see on your screen.
