A springy, 2-ply, heavy-worsted weight yarn. This temperature regulating luxury wool is raised on Targhee/Columbia sheep on reputable ranches around the United States and spun into soft yarn and kettle dyed to perfection in Virginia. These 170 yard balls of luxurious yarn are the original Targhee/Columbia Blend, first developed on the Cestari family farm in the late 1990s.

Put up: Center-pull Skein

Fiber content: 100% Targhee/Columbia Wool

Unit weight: 3.5oz / 100g

Yardage: 170 yards / 155.4 meters

Recommended needle size: US 8 / 5mm

Gauge: 4 stitches per inch on US 8 needles

Recommended hook size: US sizes J or 10 / 6mm

Care: Machine wash cold gentle cycle or hand wash cold. Reshape, air dry flat. Do not tumble dry. Do not dry clean in order to retain the natural lanolin oils in the wool. Do not bleach.

The spinning process and the breed of sheep this wool comes from makes it durable and machine washable without a chemical process. It becomes softer with each washing. It does not felt easily, but it is possible to felt.

Cestari Sheep and Wool Company is a small family-owned and operated American manufacturer of high-quality yarn.  Francis Chester began this company in 1946 and has a farm in Augusta County, Virginia where he and his family raise the sheep for the wool used in their yarn.  They also source wool from reputable ranchers throughout the United States.  All of Cestari's sheep and wool products are always grown and processed in the United States.  Their cotton products are grown and processed exclusively in Virginia.
