Blue Faced Leicester (BFL) is the darling of the longwool family. It is fine enough for next-to-skin wear and provides excellent stitch definition. Its long staple creates a hard-wearing yarn that is resistant to pilling. Not easy to felt, it takes acid dyes beautifully, including food coloring and drink mix. ½ pound put-up; top (combed); 25–27 microns; 4''–6'' (10–15 cm) fiber length.
