Join us in our historical shop on the first Friday of every month to learn the basics of knitting with Karen Goodson! This class is on the first Friday of the month. By signing up below, you are signing up for a specific date.
Where: At our shop located at 225 West Indiana Avenue, Spokane WA, 99205
Who: Anyone who is ready to learn how to knit!
When: First Friday from 3 pm-5 pm
How long: The class will be 2 hours with one 10 minute break.
How many: There are only 6 spots available each month so make sure you sign up in time to prevent having to wait for the next one.
About the Instructor: Karen has been heavily involved in the yarn industry for over 40 years. Her family-run fiber mill in Post Falls Idaho, Fibers First, has been processing fiber and spinning yarn for 8+ years. Karen is an experienced knitter, spinner, crocheter, quilter, scrapbooker, basket weaver, papermaker, seamstress, and bead worker. She is a craft lover and loves to share her knowledge with others! She's also a certified handspun yarn judge through the NwRSA, Northwest Regional Spinners Association as district director in the Eastern Washington, Idaho, and Montana area. Karen is a valuable member of our community and a phenomenal teacher of the fiber arts.
What will you learn: Karen has a proven pattern that you will follow in order to learn the basics of knitting. This pattern includes basic knitting skills that will teach you everything you need to know to get started with knitting. Including how to cast on a project, knit stitch, purl stitch, and how to cast off your project.
Supplies: Visit our shop beforehand or on the day of the class to purchase the supplies needed for the class. We will have recommendations for you when you arrive. Plus, you will save 10% on your order!
