The Sonata is a clear standout in the traveling wheel category!
It offers both the beauty & craftsmanship of Old World styles, as well as all the conveniences & compact portability found in a modern wheel. Although it is a traveling wheel, it boasts a large 19.5” diameter when most travel wheels are less than 15 inches in diameter. The Sonata also prides itself in being the traveling wheel with the tallest orifice height on the market, ringing in at 33” at its tallest (adjustable) height.
This wheel can be unpacked from the highly durable, heavily padded backpack (that is INCLUDED with purchase) and ready to spin at your next class or guild meeting in 3 minutes or less. When the Sonata is folded for transportation, the dimensions are a compact 22” tall, 19.5” wide and 7” deep. Carrying the Sonata is almost effortless because the wheel and bag combined weight is less than 16 pounds.
Made from beautiful, hand-picked European alder and birch woods, the exceptional value, style and function of this travel wheel make it a very popular choice amongst spinners everywhere.
These features combined with the options of adding a Jumbo Flyer kit make this a very unique traveling wheel. Jumbo Flyer kits expand the spinners range in two ways. First, the type of yarn created can vary from lace-weight to super bulky art yarn because of the larger orifice on the jumbo flyer. Subsequently, the jumbo bobbin allows spinners double capacity of the regular Kromski bobbin from over 4 oz. up to half pound! This means longer, continual drafts for skeins with greater yardage.

First, this is my fourth wheel and the Sonnata is the best. The construction and the mechanics are of superior quality. The Kromski’s have thought of everything you need. All the parts were included, and it took only ten minutes to set up and the wheel is quiet. I love the beauty of the wood and wooden bobbins. I have already spun and I am happy with the service and how quickly the wheel arrived. The wheel is by far the best wheel I have owned.
My teenage daughter is spinning behind me as I type this review. The Kromski spinning wheel is so quiet, we can use it while watching a movie, or while listening to music. Each turn of the wheel is smooth. We are self-taught spinners, learning from online videos, and have had no problems learning to spin on this wheel. We are SO excited about the beautiful yarns we're already (even as newbies!) creating. We just purchased a bunch more fiber so we can spin even more. Kromski's tools are so beautifully made - the wood is smooth; the instructions are clear. We're very happy!
I bought the unfinished Kromski Sonata and I love it. I stained it a turquoise blue to match our southwestern New Mexico home and she is just lovely. I’ve been spinning on a e-spinner for quite a few years and was worried my knees would be bothersome, but this wheel is so smooth that I don’t even notice my knees. It’s easy to take anywhere with me and I love it. It was a great purchase
I've had my Kromski Sonata wheel for a few weeks, I absolutely love it. The craftsmanship of this wheel is so nice. It treadles so smoothly, making it such a joy to spin on.
Great! The best portable, lightweight yet sturdy wheel! I highly recommend both this wheel and Paradise Fibers.
