Natural Dye Extract MyrobalanColor: Light Tan-Yellow Myrobalan is the ground nuts of the Terminalia chebula tree. Grown in Nepal, India, Sri Lanka, Burma, Thailand, Indochina and South China, it is an important tannin-based mordant for cotton in India and South East Asia due to the light warm color it imparts to the cloth. It may be classed as both a mordant and a dye, giving a light buttery yellow when applied. It is often used in overdying as it creates a teal with a single indigo dip. When used as a tannin mordant requires 15-20% weight of fiber or wof. If using to create a soft butter yellow colour 20-30% wof is required.
