Subtle yet spectacular, this blend of alpaca, cotton, nylon, and wool is as beautiful as it is easy to work with. The unique braided ply of Dulce lends this unique yarn a rich but muted color scheme that draws the eye in, and a soft, light, and warm texture. Fabric created from this yarn will have a lovely halo and subtle color variation. It will look and feel delicate but have the strength of nylon.

About Berroco:

Berroco has been producing quality yarn for 40 years but the company's roots actually go back centuries. From the Daniel Day Mill in 1809 to present-day Stanley Mill, six generations of Wheelocks have been continuously involved in the American textile industry.

Warren Wheelock's great-great-great-grandfather, Jerry Wheelock, began the tradition by producing woolen cloth, an enterprise that would grow and change, enduring the test of time. In 1905, Stanley Wheelock established Stanley Woolen Mills, surviving the great depression, two world wars, and weathering the changing times and demands in the world of textiles. In 1968, the Wheelock family formed Stanley Berroco which was transformed into Berroco in 1987 by Warren Wheelock and his wife, Caroline. The new firm grew to become one of the largest importers of handknitting yarns, patterns, and supplies in the United States and Canada.

Berroco is known for its high-quality yarns which widely range from traditional to novelty and are sourced from all over the world, including the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Germany, France, Italy, Turkey, Romania, Brazil, and Peru. Located on the site of the old Lonsdale Cotton Mill (1904) in North Smithfield, Rhode Island, Berroco continues its well-rooted family tradition of providing quality textiles at affordable prices.

“Ever since we were teenagers we worked in the mill, doing various jobs, learning the business, so we got to know the people, and they knew us…” quote from 1994 interview with Philip, Arthur & Strickland Wheelock.
