Araucania Yarns is inspired by Ancient Chilean Crafts made from hand painted natural yarns.
The company was born when Nora Bierschwale, textile designer and her daughter Michelle Boisier, architect, decided to combine their talents and experience with the mission to create and produce beautiful and one-off yarns for the global market, employing ancient and traditional techniques which reflect Chile's ethnic origins.
Each Hank is different; its individual beauty emerges as the artisans blend colors to create several unique, interwoven shades. Araucania Yarns is very proud to support local, sustainable job development, creating a new generation of skilled artisans in Chile. Each hank sold means more opportunities, more jobs, and more hope.

Hand Wash lay Flat to dry - recommended
Haven't used it yet!
This yarn was a great to work with! I crocheted a very large shawl. I had six skeins of it. Since it wasn't dye lotted, I held it my breath as I chose not to alternate skeins between every two rows as recommended by the manufacturer... There were only two other skeins that had any discernable shade differences, but and the result was astonishing beautiful! After weaving in ends and laundering on hand wash cycle, I tumble-dried on extra low setting. The final result was a Soft-As-Silk Shawl anyone would be proud to give or receive. I've got 2 other colorways on my WISHLIST. They're out of stock at the moment. IMAGINE THAT.!!!
I love the softness of this yarn
A beautiful yarn with wonderful hand. I made the chemo hat and it is so soft that I think it could not possibly irritate tender heads. Would love to make a scarf some time soon.
Love this yarn. The subtle color shifts are beautiful and it is easy to work with.
