More Details

This Corriedale cross has all the characteristics of a natural Corriedale wool but has been cross bred to create a softer wool.  The Corriedale breed hails originally from Australia and New Zealand where farmers decided to cross Merino ewes with Lincoln or Leicester males.  These sheep are now raised worldwide.  The fleeces are densely packed but each fiber is thicker than its Merino counterpart.  Corriedale Cross has a beautiful natural luster to it.  With an almost white/ecru natural color, a long staple length, and a definite crimp this wool is perfect for beginner and advanced spinners.  This fiber is soft!  Perfect for dying projects or felting projects.  The average micron count for fibers is between 25 and 32.

This fiber is perfect for needle felting!  The springy texture and individual large diameters of the fibers make it easier for the needle barbs to catch the fibers.  Adding Corriedale to a wet felting project helps slow the felting process giving you more control over the final result, also making the finished wet felted project bulkier.

Nice to dye and spin

The fiber is perfect for what I am using it for. Holds dyes and spins beautifully.

Corriedale Cross Wool Top

I love spinning this fun fiber. Its long staple makes spinning easy, fine or bulky, singles or plied. I also enjoy dying this wool, before or anfter spinning! This wool is soft, not scratchy, and weaves wonderfully!

Obsessed

Love corriedale! I'm a new spinner and I found this to be super easy to spin. It's a fantastic bargain at this price as well. I've placed an order for another 4 lbs. Can't wait to dye it up and spin it!

So happy with what I ordered!

This just came in the mail today, and I immediately opened it up and had to "squish" and oooh and ahh over the big bag of this Corriedale cross. I haven't gotten much spun yet, but it drafts nicely in addition to being soft and well-prepared. I love the ease of spinning Corriedale, and I am excited to find out how this turns out as opposed to pure Corriedale fiber. I am a novice spinner, and I think this is an absolute must-have for other newbies :)
