Snuggle in with your own handmade cozy Arm Knitted Blanket, Chunky Scarf or Cowl using our Jumbo Yarn!
Our 7 lb special of Super Soft Cheviot Wool Jumbo Yarn is essentially unspun roving, meaning this yarn is super bulky and ideal for making arm knitted blankets among many other fun projects! Ideal for extreme knitting, a technique using giant needles and thick yarn to create high quality pieces such as blankets, throws, cowls, hats, and more!
Our Jumbo Yarn can be used for arm knitting and finger crochet and can be hand felted or machine washer felted. Items made with this yarn should be hand washed and laid flat to dry. Pre-felting the roving before knitting will reduce pilling in items made.
We send our Jumbo Yarn to you in one continuous length - 7 lbs of fiber.
7 lbs is approx 170 yards.
Wraps Per Inch = 1
Stitches per Inch = 3
Recommended Needle Size = 30-40 mm
Length = 54.6 yards per meter
What you can make:
2-3 lbs of Jumbo Yarn will make a Chunky Scarf
4-5 lbs of Jumbo Yarn will make 30 x 50 Inches ( Cowls, Pet Beds, etc)
6-7 lbs of Jumbo Yarn will make 48 x 48 Inches (Blanket, Throw, Rug, etc)

This roving will ship to you in ONE CONTINUOUS piece, free of vegetable matter, cleaned with carded preparation in roving form, ready to use on your GIANT pair of needles or your arms! Don't want to use your arms to knit? Don't have a pair of Giant needles lying around? You can use your hands and a large surface area to hand knit or crochet the blanket! You will love our top quality Cheviot wool roving. You can choose to slightly felt it (recommended to prevent pilling) or use the roving as is! Washing the blanket can be done in a bathtub with a strainer in the drain to prevent any wool from going down the pipes. Gently massage and pat the blanket with minimal soap. Be careful not to agitate the wool too much or the felting process will begin. Once washed, drain the water and rinse and drain again, simply hang dry outside or in a room with plenty sunlight. Dry cleaning your blanket is recommended. You can also Dye your blanket with boiling water and a large vessel. 1 jar of country classics dye will dye 2 lbs of wool roving in only 30 minutes!
