It's a nice fiber to spin. Many silk blends have difficulties because the silk carries twist past the drafting zone, and drags silk forward from the rest of the roving, so one has a cloud piling up behind the drafting hand, this didn't. I got a very nice high twist 3-ply from the portion I've spun up. I intend to make some 2-ply for weaving scarves, and expect it to full nicely, so the drape should be pleasant and the scarves warm.
I was able to spin this fiber directly from the bag, which I usually don't do. It turned out being very pretty and soft yarn showing all the colors through the entire skein. Some colors, while spinning, are hidden, but not this yarn. The shiny silver silk gives this fiber just the right added push it needed to allow the other colors to stand out in their glory. I ordered two more colors...lucky me.
I can't wait to spin up this beautiful wool. The color is just what I expected and it is even softer than I thought it would be. I think it will make a beautiful yarn.
The fiber is beautiful and a joy to spin!
