Slippery but soft!

Okay so this fiber is a little on the slippery side, but even as a novice I find it very soothing to spin. Its ultra soft and I can't wait to see how it takes dye.

Soft and Cool

I really enjoy spinning this fiber! I found it best to spin from the fold as I am inexperienced with the "grabby-ness" of cellulose. I feel the 50/50 mix with wool might help it draft easier for me. I received the first batch in the December 2017 fiber box and I enjoyed it so much I purchased more. I read that cellulose fiber has a cooling affect. Indeed this fiber is cool to the touch, very soft and shiny. After spinning I dyed it with Country Classics acid dyes with great success. I plan to weave the yarn into a scarf. Thank you!

Product Details

Mint fiber is a very new biodegradable cellulose fiber that is infused with mint powder extracted from peppermint leaves. This blend is a 50/50 undyed top with Superfine 18.5 micron Merino Wool Top. The color is off white with a slight golden tint. The texture is lofty and smooth lending itself nicely to dyeing, spinning, wet and needle felting, and blending projects. The finished yarn has lovely drape and natural cooling and antibacterial properties. This fiber is very lustrous and soft with excellent moisture absorption too. Featured in our December Fiber of the Month club box with Pearly Polwarth, and Milky Mohair.
