Beautifully Beachy!

OMGOODNESS words cannot express how Beautifully Beachy this Blend is, it’s unreal!! A word of caution tho, Fibers from this Blend SHED. I’m not positive which but I’m guessing it is the Flax/Linen that was on my pants after examining my Prize, no worries here tho, just as the Beach leaves Sand behind, I suspect it will Spin as Beautifully as it feels!! Again ParadiseFibers went above and beyond including the shades of wool used in the Blend so that Spinners & FiberArtists can easily create coordinating Yarns for plying or experimentation with blending creating Rolags, or Punis, using a Diz or adding economical bulk to creating Pencil rovings.

Beautiful!

This fiber spins up beautifully and easily. I split the fiber so that I was working with only 1-2 colors at a time, and the depth of color is gorgeous. This mix has a luxurious sheen that can be used to make scarves, sweaters, and shawls. I was glad that I decided to spin it outside - the fiber does shed, but it’s totally worth it!

A fun spin!

Thanks to the fiber club, I got to try a new blend! I really enjoyed spinning this fiber. It was a totally different experience, as the flax made it a bit more challenging. It is more for the experienced spinner and not so much a beginner! I am always up for a challenge and love trying new fiber combinations. I spun it all to a single and plied it with a similar colorway in a Suri alpaca. It turned out beautifully! I would love to spin this on its’ own, as well. I am going to purchase this fiber again in the future! It makes such a beautiful yarn!

Inspired by the ocean, Peter Iredale was featured in our June 2018 Fiber Club Box with Cassiopeia. Designed to highlight the soft and neutral color palette that can be found by taking a trip to the beach. This is a 25/25/50 ultra luxurious blend of undyed and dyed Flax/Linen Top, undyed Mulberry Silk, and Dyed Superfine Merino Wool Top.

This blend is a great example of how different fibers can come together to make something truly enjoyable to spin.
Ideal for intermediate to advanced spinners.
Can be wet/dry felted.

Flax Fiber is a vegan fiber made from the Linen Plant. The fiber has been extracted from the stalks of the plant. The fiber has been stripped and processed to create a long stapled spinning fiber that softens with use. Flax has natural cooling properties and is antibacterial.

Mulberry silk, also known as cultivated silk, is a brilliant white fiber produced by the Bombyx Mori silkworm, the fibers are triangular in shape and reflect light at all angles, making the fiber appear luminous. Silk has a high tencel strength and natural cooling properties. Want to pair a color of silk with this blend? Check out our line of Solid Colored Mulberry Silk

This fiber is lovely when spun as is and plied onto itself or a contrasting color.

The Merino Wool in this blend is an 18.5 Micron Merino Wool which adds an incredible soft hand to the fiber. The colors of wool in the blend are: Dream, Buff, Cerulean, and Mink.
