There are two ratios: 16:1 by driving the spindle directly or 80:1 via the countershaft, which accelerates the spindle. Traditional The world's most popular spinning wheel! The basic model comes with a single drive band and Scotch tension (flyer lead, with a friction band to slow the bobbin). The double drive version has separate bands to drive the flyer and the bobbin, plus Scotch tension option for soft and novelty yarns. With double drive, the flyer and bobbin are turned at different speeds, allowing for more continuous take-up motion. Four 4-ounce bobbins and a vertical lazy kate are included with each wheel. The Kiwi Double-treadle design allows for easy stopping and starting and changing wheel direction while leaving hands free. Treadles are hinged to allow heel-toe action. Centrally located flyer allows for use by either right-handed or left-handed spinners. Simple scotch tension system and polycord, stretchy drive band. Rear wheel mounting allows for easy band changing. Two ratios: 5.5:1 and 8:1.Flyer orifice is 10 mm (a little over 3/8 inch). Large solid drive wheel 17.5 in diameter.
