Ashford Wool Handcards pair curved-back standard 72 psi cloth

After wanting a set of hand cards for quite awhile, I finally took the plunge a purchased these. They are very good quality, easy to assemble (a little wood glue and a phillip's screwdriver do the trick) and ready to use in a jiffy. I compared prices at several different online stores and these were the best price. I have a LOT of raw and washed wool to process and these will make the job so much easier. Don't hesitate to get these handcards, as they are a great product at a very nice price!

I have been putting off buying a pair of handcards because of the price, but then I found these . They are large so that is very helpful , I have used them for blending colors of fiber that I am going to felt.

These were my first set of hand carders. While I love them now, I was pretty disappointed that they didn't come assembled. I really wanted to start carding right away, but instead had to go out to the garage, glue and screw on the handles... and then wait 24 hours to let the glue dry. However, now that they are assembled, I love them. They seem sturdy enough and work very well.

I bought a pair of these hand cards, they are a nice well made set, and easy on my hands to use. I've carded a variety of fibers with them and have even blended different fibers into nice rolags with them as well.

must buy! it's so easy to use and the fibers get well blended. i tried it on one of my coarser fleeces. And after i carded them it was a lot smoother!

The fibers get well blended and it can hold a good amount too! Another thing that's great is how easy the fibers transfer from carder to carder!

I recently learned how to handcard and decided to look online for some Ashford handcarders (I own an Ashford Kiwi). I found several through Google, but bought from Paradise Fibers because the price was awesome. I am VERY happy with my handcarders! They were easy to assemble - although you have to be careful. I sustained a minor finger injury trying to get the handle of one in too quickly. Totally my fault because I was just in too much of a hurry to get carding!

I got these as my first pair of hand carders. I have playing around with them a lot! I have been able to comb both medium and fine fibers with these combs. I was impressed by the quality for the price, diverse functionality for fibers, and ease of use. The curved backs are what really sold me because I find this easier on my wrists and to the carding motion. Overall excellent product and I would highly recommended it!

These carders are so easy to use. I have tried the flat ones before, and they tire me out quickly. These work so much more comfortably.
I have been using mine currently to align the fibers from the stuffing my dogs tear out of their stuffed toys. Prior to receiving my new carders, I had been using dog brushes, which was tedious, time consuming, etc. I can card enough to spin for quite awhile on my drop spindles. That is the fiber I learned to spin with, so I didn't screw up any lovely wool.

I much prefer the curved aspect of these carders to flat ones.

I have wanted handcards for a long time. These are great! I can now card fiber in small batches for spinning.

Overall, nice sturdy hand cards. But, handles come separately with screws to attach them. Would be better and would have preferred the cards came with handles already attached.

Also, instructions state to condition the cards with wool that has lanolin in it. There are no suggestions for substitutes for this and I do not have any fiber with lanolin in it.

If it hadn't been for these 2 cons, would have given the cards a higher rating.

That said, they are decent, serviceable cards for not too much money and do their job well.

When I bought my hand cards, I really didn't know what I was getting. Since then, I've used them for all kinds of fibers and blending. I've not been disappointed in them or regretted having purchased them. I enjoy the curved backs for rolling rolags and it seems to be easier for my hands to use the whole surface easily.

As a beginning spinner, I'm finding top of the line products make my learning a lot easier. Ashford Handcards made working with my wool a dream.

I had experimented with a couple of other basic handcards, I love the curve and feel of these. The quality construction is excellent. I like to blend in small batches and these handcards are just the trick.

These cards are great for merino and other coarse, but prepared, fibers. In addition, they're just barely fine enough for some fluffing of cotton and other very fine fibers. Since the handles are screwed on, you can also collapse them for easy storage.
