The package comes with three balls of well-carded wool, each a different color. It has a nice sized top spindle, easy to use. There is a brief instructions manual, and the benefit of a sample of Soak, for fine woolens.

The instruction is helpful and easy to understand, though if you are new to spinning, I'd recommend seeing a video of spindle spinning. It clarifies the instructions quite a bit. Th comic relief is enjoyable, though possibly a bit overdone, considering it is a brief educational tool.

If you bought the items separately, it would cost a similar aount. I would recommend it to learn how to spin. I would suggest to Louet to reduce the price $2-$5 so people would not be tempted to hunt down the items separately.

The spindle is easy to work with. There were three different colors of wool fiber in decent quantity, well carded, and easy to use. The instructions are decent, though if you are unfamiliar with spinning, seeing a video on spindle spinning really clarifies the process. It also came with a sample of Soak. An unexpected bonus.

The comic relief in the instruction book was enjoyable, though possibly overdone considering it is a brief, eduactional booklet.

This is a great way to start, and with plenty of material. If you'd have bought the items separately, you'd have spent about the same.

This item arrived promptly and was exactly what I wanted.

I'm still trying to spin the fiber and am not very successful. Not to worry, I found someone in our area who does spin and hopefully she will get me moving in the right direction.

This kit had everything needed to learn to spin fiber to make yarn. I followed up watching a few videos, but this gave me a fantastic start. The fiber is wonderful to work with and the spindle is well balanced.

The spindle and the wool roving are very nice. The instruction manual is, however, most inadequate for the beginning spinner, like me. It gave no good instructions about how to draft the roving or much else. However, by finding video instruction on YouTube, I was able to figure it out in the end. If it's possible to get roving and a spindle for less, I'd skip the Louet kit.
