Heavy Duty Ball Winder from Nancy's Knit Knacks

I had a plastic Royal winder for several years before I picked up this ballwinder. I have since donated said Royal to my sister.

NKK's ball winder is much more expensive, but it is well worth the price. The parts are solid (metal and wood), adjustable, sturdy, quiet, and strong. It is quite portable, and the handle is large and easy to hold so you're not hurting your arms/wrist.

It may not be necessary to have this ball winder if you are not heavily into fiber arts, but it is definitely worth the investment, especially if you start branching out from your initial fiber interests. I knit, crochet, spin, dye, and weave, and NKK's winder has handled it all like a champ, from small amounts of fiber to giant 8-oz skeins.
