I don't usually drop-spin anymore, but the flax was asking me to do it, so I obliged. Pros: dry spinning from the fold and chain plying at the same time was surprisingly easy with this fiber (moreso than on my wheel, even) and there were almost no breaks until my spindle had about 70g tugging down on it. Cons: flax is one of the rougher things to work with and sometimes the ends of the staples want to poke out of the twist and exaggerate that, especially where a break has been fixed. Overall, I can't see the fiber having many applications in clothing & accessories due to its roughness, but it feels very sturdy and would do well wherever a twine type fiber is needed. The historical aspect alone makes it interesting to work with.

when building an all-wood bow for traditional archery, something to back the bow, to keep splinters from popping up when it is bent, like when you bend a popsicle stick, is needed. Raw linen fiber is the best because it is light weight and incredibly strong.

Flax has never been my favorite fiber to spin, but this one is a breeze! Spins better dry than wet but definitely needs to be wetted and hung post-plying. A fairly tight twist helps with tensile strength, and I found I needed a somewhat dense knit/crochet. I bought this to make handbags; I'm not so sure it's clothing quality. Good stuff, though.
