Small Swift Economical plastic swift surprisingly durable works great!

I bought this bc it was cost effective and my old wooden swift had broken. i like that it's light, easy to set up and sturdy. I would receommend this to anyone.

Wow.. this is absolutely the best money I have spent on a "knitting" aid. I got tired of my heavy monster wood swift and wanted something light and compact to keep close to the kitchen table I use for winding my yarn. Not only has this been exactly what I wanted in terms of light- and compact-ness, but it is the EASIEST swift I have ever used, esp. when I hit a "snag" in a skein. For some reason, it is just "friendlier" to use and easier to fix mess-ups in the yarn. Since it's also easier to hand wind a skein off this swift, I'm bringing it to Stitches Midwest with me!

I had been hand rolling yarn for years - often waiting for a friend who visits and helps me. Finally I gave in and bought a wooden one - with a 40% coupon from [...]. I didn't take it out of the box for a while, but when I finally set it up, I discovered it was tooled incorrectly and couldn't lock. Because I had waited, returning this was a nightmare I won't go into, but it almost could not be returned - even tho the item was flawed. Then - I came across this "little" baby on the Paradise web site. The price was right, but I was worried that it wouldn't handle the larger skeins I had. IT IS PERFECT! Just fine with the large Colinette skeins I had... I am thrilled with both it's performance and price and can't recommend it highly enough.

This swift, a metal frame with plastic to protect the yarn, operates smoothly and adjusts easily. I'm delighted with it, especially for the price! One tiny negative: the clamp to attach it needs some sort of padding for grip and damage control. I used self-adhesive craft foam.

I've got this swift! It works great for me. I just attach it to a chair seat and wind away! =0) I also like that it has the handle at the top for if I want to wind skeins on it instead of my niddy.
Mine is Japanese made, which is nice. I appreciate the quality of japanese made products. (I'm slightly biased though. My boyfriend was born there!)
