I really needed a ball winder that would power through a lot of large bulky hanks and hand spun skeins that I had. The small cheap ball winder I already had just couldn't cut it. So I thought I'd try this one.

To be honest, the first one PF sent me was not quite right. It had a little tooth slippage problem despite the fact that I had no tension on the yarn. So I contacted the PF folks, and had a new one two days later, no return shipping or re-shipping charges! The new one has worked perfectly dozens and dozens of times!

What I love the most is turning my elderly mother loose on it! Her hands are too cramped with arthritis to knit anymore. But she gets a real kick out of cranking that lever around and making the yarn swift spin to make beautiful center-pull balls!

I find my yarn winder great for winding balls for my machine knitting. The yarn flows freely through my machine without any pulling, which causes an unwanted change in tension. It was also the best price and arrived in record time.
