This shawl pin is made sturdy enough, even the wooden pin feels strong enough to last a very long time. The texture of the wood is sanded fine enough so it won't catch or snag on any of your stitch work, but it has more of a mat appearance. Not as smooth as the Knitter's Pride knitting needles.
I ordered the color Royal Blue, but the actual color is a dusty teal color. Not what I was looking for.
