I couldn't agree with Mae more...these are the best of both worlds...warm wood/bamboo feel with sharp metal points. They feel somehow sturdier than wood/bamboo and less slick than metal. I haven't noticed any catching at the join. No complaints here...fully intend to pick up a couple more sets...hallelujah my sock knitting has been rejuvenated...

When working with DPNs, especially smaller sizes, I like the sharper, smoother metal tips, but I like wood needles for their ability to keep my stitches from slipping. These combine the good qualities of both. The only complaint I have, as with all tools that have pieces joined together, are the fact that sometimes yarn catches a bit where the tips and body of the needles join. Not too badly, though. I would love to get more of these in the small sizes.
