I am so glad I ordered this unique pattern! I decided to go with the colorway shown in the photo, and I'm glad I did. The Noro colors are deeper and richer than what is shown in the light-drenched photo. The kit came in very fast and I would've finished it in 2 or 3 days, except I'm knitting a pair of socks and another item. No, I am not a fast knitter - not even close to being one! The pattern is simply that easy to follow.
Even though I'm in love with short-rowing now, not so long ago I was very intimidated by it. If you're a bit unsure about trying the short-row technique, just watch a few YouTube videos (there are several), then play with a few short-row swatches. Don't be afraid to experiment. That's truly all you'll need to do in order to feel comfortable making this shawl, even if it's your first short-rowed garment. Short-rowing really IS easy -- it just *looks* like you performed magic! Your fellow knitters will be wanting to know: "How did you DO that?"!
Two little tips: This pattern is well thought-out and well-written. Just TRUST the directions and then *follow* them! Make a copy of the main pages so you can mark them up, if it helps to keep track of what you did last.
To help keep track of each wrapped stitch, just place a marker next to each one. I don't use them anymore, but I used them faithfully when I first started. Enjoy!
