| Portable Lazy Kate | Accommodates even the widest bobbins | Complete with zippered carry case |
|
Katie-a-go-go from Nancy's Knit Knacks This tensioning lazy kate accommodates all bobbins on the market today! The 6" x 6" x 3/4" thick maple hardwood base has 4 clear vinyl feet . The center dowel has a sturdy copper metal yarn loop. All of the parts fit in a sturdy zippered denim carry sack with a handle so you can store it compactly and take it with you! A free set of 10 Spinning Project Kards is included (a $4.00 value). $44.99 Ever wish you had a kate system for your spindle-spun yarn? Well, check out this easy method using common drinking straws! Transfer the spun yarn from the spindle by putting a straw over the rod and inserting the bobbin shaft into the straw. Push the copy of your yarn down onto the straw. Fill up another spindle or two and transfer the spun yarn. Then, you can ply directly from the rods onto your spindle by threading the single ply yarns through the center metal yarn loop. Eureka!
NOTE: We have a few sets with slightly thicker bobbin rods. These are the same as the current model pictured above except they have thicker rods (1/4" vs. 3/16" diameter) and the rods are shorter (6" vs. 7-1/2" total length - subtract 1/2" from both to determine available length above the base of the unit). These units cannot be used with any bobbin that requires a 3/16" or thinner rod, or for bobbins which are longer than 5-3/4". Other than that, they work like our regular unit.20% off: $35.99 Limited supply |
