Crystal Palace Sausalito yarn is a fingering weight superwash merino and nylon yarn. Sausalito has slow-striping colors that are created by plying one long color striping strand of yarn with a color coordinated solid yarn. Sausalito is gorgeous in everything from socks to lacy shawls and scarves. Crystal Palace Sausalito is made from extra fine merino so we recommend putting your handknits in a lingerie bag in the washing machine and lay flat to dry. If you love Crystal Palace Mini Mochi, but have been wishing for a plied version, here it is! Sausalito is a 80% superwash merino and 20% nylon fingering weight yarn. There are 198 yards per 50 gram ball of yarn.

This is a beautiful yarn that works up soft. The colors vary from ball to ball, even within the same dyelot, depending on how the plies match up. I haven't encountered any knots or weak spots. I've used it for scarves, cowls and hats, though I'm too rough on my socks to use it for my feet.

I absolutely loved CPY's Mini Mochi, and decided to give Sausalito a try since they are very similar and I'm just as happy with this yarn as I am with Mini Mochi. The colors are great in transition and I love the more muted tones that I got out of it, plus it's super soft. It did get a bit knarly when ripping back as the yarn sticks together sometimes. It says it can be machine washed, but I noticed that even with hand washing it starts to get a noticeable halo. Still a lovely yarn to knit with and it makes fun short scarves with a single skein!

A wonderfully soft yarn, with nice long colour changes. I knit a cowl with this yarn, and found the yarn a bit splitty and difficult to tink back. That said, I think it would be lovely for scarves, cowls, and gloves. I wouldn't knit a pair of socks with this though. Also, even though the label says machine washable, I recommend hand wash and dry flat.

This is a great bargain for Crystal Palace yarns. Each type of Crystal Palace yarn is amazing. The quality of the fiber used in each type of yarn is of the utmost top quality. Crystal Palace takes great pride in their family made yarns and this is a great time to try to the yarn out, even if you can only afford one ball or one type of the yarns. I highly recommend trying these yarns on your next project. You'll be pleasantly surprised on the quality of your finished project with these gorgeouse yarns.
