I bought this because a) I needed a lighter spindle for laceweight yarn and b) it was too pretty for words, and I have a fondness for tiger stripes. This is a very nice spindle, though pricey because of the fancy wood.

I bought this drop spindle for spinning lace weight silk to ply with multiple plys of wool for strength. I enjoyed using it so much i ended up using it to make a two ply laceweight skein of finished yarn. (I went with one ply silk, one merino) It's a sweet little spindle, but it doesn't have the longest spin time per flick in my spindle collection.

These spindles are great, light support spindles. They're some of the lightest on the market, and they spin fabulously well. The wood is also gorgeous. Of course, this type of spindle does only spin lightweight yarns, but it's fun and great for that purpose.
