I have both this book and it's sequel. They were wonderfully helpful in getting me to the point that I rarely use an actual pattern anymore. I still reference it for the sizing/gauge charts and definitely for the stitch patterns.

I've also let my daughter use it in her efforts to begin making socks. Now to work on her attention span so she actually finishes a project. ;)
