Ashford Wool Drum Carder - Coarse Cloth

Process your own wool or make your own custom spinning fiber blends!   The Ashford Drum Carder is a great little workhorse for general processing of fiber. The Ashford Hand Cards are great but when you need to blend or process large amounts of fiber more efficiently this carder does just the trick. The Drum Carder cards and blends fibers for spinning, felting much faster than handcards and with less work. The drum on the carder holds 50gms (2 oz) of fibre. When the fibre is lifted from the carder you will have a "batt" of fibre ready for felting or ready to tear into strips for spinning. The batt measure 53cm x 19cm (22 x 7.5 inches) Use 72 point for fine fleeces and 36 point for stronger fleece types. The Fine Carder is typically the most popular and work well with most breeds. The Coarse Carder is for novelty or specialty blending typically.
