I have never taken a weaving course, the limit of my weaving experience being potholders on a plastic child's loom. I've only been knitting for three years. This loom is easy to use and the instructions are extremely well written and easy to follow. I have finished one scarf, and I am super pleased with the result. I think that I will have to read additional materials or take a workshop somewhere to expand my knowledge, but this loom is perfect for learning. And, it is truly portable as advertised.
