There is no no slipping with these needles. Other aluminum needles drop the stitches - they slip off the needle. These are not the high gloss finish aluminum like the inexpensive needles. The surface is not rough but finished in such a way that slippage does not happen.

These small, compact double-pointed needles are excellent for small projects. I used them to knit a baby sweater out of sock yarn and couldn't have been more pleased with the performance of these needles. Knitting went quickly as these are smooth needles, but I also didn't "lose" my yarn either as there is just enough grip to prevent that from happening.
